Meet the team behind Thiel College’s Award-Winning Undergraduate Research Review

C. Grace Honeycutt ’25

Grace is a senior English major and Philosophy minor at Thiel College and the Co-Editor-in-Chief for The Lectern. Grace is very involved in on-campus activities including being the President of Sigma Tau Delta and working in both the Career Center and the Learning Commons on Campus. In her free time, Grace enjoys reading, writing, drawing, baking, and hanging out with friends. Grace has enjoyed working on the Lectern and is grateful for all the skill and knowledge she has gained from being a part of the editorial board for 2 years. 

Makenna Oswalt ’26

Makenna is a junior English and Businesses Marketing and Advertising major at Thiel College, and is also a Co-Editor-in-Chief for The Lectern. Makenna is involved in the Dietrich Honors Institute, Sigma Tau Delta, Lamba Sigma, softball, Sigma Kappa, and works in both admissions as a Thiel Team member, and the Learning Commons. She enjoys reading, writing, hanging out with her friends and family, and being outdoors. Makenna loves working on The Lectern because it allows her to explore the fascinating writings of her fellow students and to gain new skills and insights throughout the process.

Colin Schroyer ’26

A junior at Thiel College studying English and minoring in Film Studies, Colin is involved in plenty of groups and organizations on and off campus. He is in the Dietrich Honors Institute, a brother of the Phi Theta Phi Fraternity, writes for The ThielensianThe Lectern, and The Phoenix, which he peer reviews for the latter two, volunteers for Rotaract Club, is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, works as a student-employee for Thiel’s Communication and Marketing Department, and is a teacher’s assistant for the DHI (and that’s presuming he hasn’t forgotten anything). He is thankful for the opportunity to work with The Lectern, getting to read the wonderful essays and research posters written by fellow Thiel Students. Colin enjoys creative writing of all sorts, playing games, spending time with friends and family, and generally being a rapscallion.

Madeleine White ’25

Madeleine is a senior at Thiel College studying Neuroscience and Health Systems and is an editor for The Lectern. She is involved in many activities on campus, including Student Government and Zeta Tau Alpha. Madeleine enjoys music, reading, and hanging out with her friends in her free time. Madeleine enjoys being an editor for The Lectern because it allows her to enhance her skills in English and help others get their work out into the community.

Sydney Green ’26

Sydney is a junior at Thiel College studying Psychology under the counseling track and minoring in English. Sydney is involved in Sigma Kappa, Psi Chi National Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta Honors Society, and works at the circulation desk at the library. She enjoys reading, painting, and being around her family and friends. Sydney chose to be a part of The Lectern because she enjoyed reading various subjects and thought it would be good to branch out.

Alexa Beck ’27

Alexa is a second year at Thiel College double majoring in Actuarial Studies & Mathematics. Alexa is involved in the Dietrich Honors Institute, Lamba Sigma, Kappa Mu Epsilon, Circle K, Creative Writing Club and more! She also works in Admissions as a member of Thiel Team and as a lead math tutor in the TLC. She enjoys these jobs, her family, and spending time with her friends in and out of band. This is Alexa’s first year on The Lectern staff. Her favorite part about being a peer reviewer is being able to read the words of her peers and she remains inspired by each one’s creativity. 

Madalyn Triskett ’27

My name is Maddy Triskett and I am a sophomore at Thiel College. I enjoy reading, writing, working out, and playing basketball, as I am a member of the women’s team here at Thiel. I am so thankful that I was selected to be part of this amazing group and that we were able to create this next issue of the Lectern. Thank you and enjoy! 

Savannah Adams ’26

Savannah is a junior at Thiel College studying Early Childhood and Special Education with a minor in English and is a peer reviewer for The Lectern. Outside of The Lectern, she is involved in Sigma Kappa and Choir. Savannah enjoys reading, listening to music, and several miscellaneous crafts. She is excited to be a peer reviewer for The Lectern because it allows her to develop her proofreading skills for her future career.

James Cromwell-Young ’26

James is a Junior from Virginia Beach, Va double majoring in Psychology and Sociology. He is a part of many organizations on campus such as SGA Vice President, Psi Chi President, Kappa Sigma, and men’s volleyball. 

Kelly Oros ’26

Kelly is a junior Accounting and Business double major, with a minor in Equestrian Studies. She is a member of the Equestrian team at Thiel and enjoys spending time with the team and learning more about horses. She enjoys spending time with her family and pets, reading, and listening to music. She has enjoyed being a part of the Lectern peer review team, as it allows her to explore her love of English and see the talent of her fellow students.

Kaitlynn Wolffe ’25

Kaitlynn is a senior at Thiel College studying Business Administration and English and an editor for the Lectern. She is involved in various clubs such as Sigma Tau Delta, the Creative Writing Club, and WING, and also works at the library and as a tutor. She loves to read and spend time with her family. Being a member of the Lectern has helped her to gain more experience in both editing and writing creatively and professionally, which will help her in her future career path.
