Do you want to share your research with campus and the world? Submit now to The Lectern, Thiel’s award-winning research review.  We are seeking student submissions from all disciplines: papers, posters, and audio/visual presentations. Work at all levels is welcome. 

Submissions for the third issue are due by midnight on Monday, May 13, 2024.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Authors must be a Thiel undergraduate student at the time of submission. 
  2. Submissions from all disciplines and at all levels are welcome.
  3. Reviewers are looking for work that identifies and meets a specific purpose. The piece should sufficiently address a question that is meaningful to a field of study and/or a larger audience using sound research methods and/or original thinking.
  4. Reviewers may require certain edits as a condition of publication.
  5. Submissions must have a title. 
  6. Authors are required to include a 300-word abstract for their project. 
  7. Submissions should be no longer than 7,500 words. Citations and references do not contribute to word counts. 
  8. Proper citations must be used in the corresponding style and or discipline of the work (APA, CSE, Chicago, MLA, etc.).
  9. MS Word documents are preferred.
  10. Submissions are reviewed via a double-blind process in which authors and reviewers are anonymous. Do not include your name, advisor, course info or other identifying information within your submitted document. 
  11. The Editorial Board may contact professors or advisors related to the submission.
